"A Down East Exhibit"
"A Down East Exhibit" is a 14"x18" charcoal/pastel drawing of a piece of a fence full of buoys I ran across in Atlantic, North Carolina. This drawing is a sister drawing of another I drew years ago but in colored pencil and not as close up. I found this fence a few years ago while driving in the area of Carteret County just east of the North River, which is the boundary separating Down East NC from the rest of the state. It's a beautiful area of small, strong knit communities made up of people who have been fishing the Core Sound for generations. This area is an area soon to follow the plight of other coastal areas where families who have lived in these little communities like Atlantic or Cedar Island for generations are being displaced by others who wish to live the Down East life too. Like everthing in life, things are changing. The original unframed 14"x18" drawing is offered for 550.00. Signed and numbered, limited edition (1000), giclee' archival quality prints (11"x14" image centered on 13"x16" hot press heavy 300gsm paper) are available for 75.00.
